The equipment can not create a professional photographer, but it is
important to mention when explaining the technical difference between
casual and professional photography.
I use Mamiya brand photo equipment, specifically the 645 format.
The medium format is roughly 3 times the size of a 35 mm negative,
the increased negative area combined with the sharpest lenses available,
produce incredibly sharp images, rich in color depth and shadow detail.
Although 35mm cameras have improved greatly (especially digital
cameras), they cannot capture the amount of image information that the
medium format camera affords due to the limitation of the smaller
negative size. This difference becomes more apparent when you
enlarge the images.
