With Kellie I tried to mix it up, I had take some shots of her standing, sitting, leaning up and back against the arched wall, all in all it was a good variety of poses.

The next model, Brenda, caught me a bit off-guard.  She came out (as it appeared) wearing nothing but a white cotton sheet (she had jeans on underneath.)  Lindsey wanted some back shots of her and some were to be in black and white.  I started with her sitting in the chair.  I put up a white back drop behind her, clamping it to the rod iron gate behind her.  I took some nice upper torso photos this way.  The sheet wasn't really working so I removed it (the back drop that is) so the background would be the dark rod iron gate.  I knew it would make a nice dark contrasting background, and the decorative iron gate would make a nice design.  I then had Brenda sit facing backward in the chair and lowered the sheet just above the line of her jeans, in the first shots I did not notice this, but realized I needed to make sure it dropped as low as possible to bring out the curvature of her back.  So I took a number of these photos having Brenda move her back in various ways.  It turns out the best shot was one of her with her back straight at me and her head facing  away.  This was among the last shots I took of her and I had the lighting arranged perfectly.  These photos would make nice studies for an artist.

Next up was Shirley.  Shirley is a petite, dark-haired teenage girl and was dressed for her homecoming dance (she kind of looks like Natalie Portman).  She had a really cute smile displaying her braces.  I was to get some full length shots of her by the rod iron gate.  The full length shots were a bit of a challenge due to the tight working area.  I decided to switch from my standard 80mm AF lens to a manual 45mm wide angle, it worked for the full length framing, it was required because the digital back cuts off a fair amount of the field of view.  I only took a few of these photos because the manual focus of the lens is extremely difficult to focus in low-light conditions.  I am going to invest in some sort of studio light that I can turn on while focusing.  The mono-lights have a modeling light, but it is too dim to be of much use.  But the photos by the iron gate looked interesting, you cannot really see the hallway in the background because it fades to black, so it looks like an exterior gate at night.  After that I had Shirley pose in interesting poses, I had her pose in uncomfortable angles, but they make good portrait poses.  For example I would have her sit with her hips and legs facing one direction and her head and shoulders facing the opposite.  It's un-natural, but looks good in photos.
