The ZD back was working great and the battery was holding up well.

Next, I did some group photos with some bride's maids, ring bearers
and flower girls.  I used a little flash fill to provide extra light in the
shade of the tree.  The weather was great, partly cloudy where I was,
very cool, very little wind and the sky had a hazy atmosphere.

I was grateful that I had time to test the ZD back before the shoot.  I
found out that the back was not compatible with the Kingston 4gig
CD card that I tried. So I used the SanDisk SD 2gig card that the
instruction manual suggested.  It worked fine.  I intended to
shoot RAW formatted photos that could fit 55 photos on each
card.  I wanted to be sure to have enough, so I bought about 10
of these cards.  It was just enough, at the end of the night I had 2
left over.  I would have used these as well, but for a comparison,
tried some photos using my Leaf Valeo back tethered to my
Mac laptop.  I had worked out the issue with this described in my
other 'On Location' photo shoots.  I had replaced a bad fire-wire
cable with a generic one.  I had to trim the sides down a bit to get
it to fit in the back, but it worked great, no more disconnections.
I had a nice short fire-wire cable attached to the laptop. I ran the
Leaf-Capture software, put in in 'Rapid Capture' mode and slipped
the laptop into my Lowepro light backpack.  I put small bag of items
between the open monitor and keyboard to keep it from shutting.
When it shuts, it goes into sleep mode and the software resets.
With this configuration, I could go on and on for at least 2 to 3 hours.
The only problem is, it seems kind of geeky to go around with a
backpack on your back while shooting.  I'm glad I had a chance to
shoot the wedding with both the Leaf and Mamiya ZD backs so I
can compare the two.  The Leaf Valeo back produces 6meg 16 bit
color photos whereas the Mamiya ZD back produces the 21meg
12 bit color.  I want to see if it the 2 bits less makes any visible
difference.

After doing more group shots outside of the visitor center where the
wedding and reception would take place, I went inside to setup for
the ceremony and reception.  While everything was being set-up
I took the opportunity to get some table shots while it was empty.
The sun was setting low and a beam came through illuminating the
cake at the center of one table, so I took a quick photo before the
light moved.
