Before the ceremony started, I had a chance to take more group shots.
Not everyone was available for the first round at the other side of the
park.  The location was not my first choice, at the front of the
visitor center.  I was concerned about having everyone stand in the
parking lot with a red-curb at their feet.  But I took some 3/4 shots
above the knees, I also too some full length shots.  After reviewing
these photos, the background worked out much better than I hoped
for.  The light faded as you look down toward the feet of the full length
photos, so the red curb is not even noticeable. The outdoor light was
perfect, with the sun setting low behind high-altitude clouds for a
very nice soft light.  I could not have produced better light in a studio.
In the background, the hedge and the trees along with building looked
very nice and not distracting at all.

After the group photos, we went inside for the ceremony and the reception.  I positioned myself at the front where the minister would be.
The groomsmen all lined up and in came the Bride hand-in-hand with both her father and mother down the aisle.  The Mamiya AFD is not
the best fast action camera, but I did manage to get some good photos
as the bridal party approached.   Now, as they stood exchanging rings
and vows, it was fairly easy to maneuver and take carefully aimed
photos.  With most the indoor and outdoor photos, I angled the main
flash head up and used the smaller fill flash for direct illumination.
I tried a few direct flashes, and I'm glad I only did a few because these
are always way too harsh.  The Metz CL-4 is a great flash to use, the
photos always turn out great without the harsh direct flash and black
backgrounds.  I am going to make a note to buy a reflective diffuser for
the flash.  That might give me a little more flash power without the harsh
results of direct flash.

To sum it up, the camera, flash and both digital backs worked great.
I need to work with the auto-focus which seemed temperamental at times.  I know I put the auto-focus on single mode and not continuous
but still it kept focusing while I was depressing the shutter release.  I
am going to also make a note to buy a portable battery pack for the
flash, the Metz CL-4 goes through AA batteries like candy.

Look for these photos to appear shortly in My Portfolio for weddings.
